The LSPD is a parody of the Los Angeles Police Department. (LAPD)  Los Santos is suffering a heavy crime wave being a video game that centers on pulling heists and just being a criminal knucklehead for a lack of better words. And the severe cop shortage in the LSPD is not helping. Add the progressive local government headed by Mayor Sue Murray reimagining law enforcement and you have cops retiring early and prospects looking to the other agencies on the island for employment.  Even through bad morale and forced overtime, the cops of the LSPD are rising above the challenge to meet the demand.
